Job Description

Job Description The Diesel Mechanic II performs skilled maintenance and repairs on Class 8 diesel tractors, trailers, and material handling equipment. You'll handle advanced diagnostics, maintain service records, and help ensure our fleet remains DOT-compliant and road-ready.
Compensation Range:
Starting Pay
  • $34.00/Hour Plus Shift Differential
  • 6 Month Step Progression $35.00
  • 12 Mo.
Step Progression $36.00 $2000 Sign ON Bonus (
Note:
This is based on hours worked
  • not a flat rate of pay) AutoZoners are required to provide tools that are ½ inch drive or under; tools that meet OSHA safety standards and adequate tolls to perform their job. Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and braking systems
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
  • Maintain service logs and repair documentation
  • Operate tools and diagnostic equipment safely
Qualifications Required:
  • 2-4 years of diesel mechanic experience
  • Knowledge of Class 8 vehicle systems and components
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred:
  • Technical school certification or ASE credentials
  • Welding, trailer repair, or forklift maintenance experience
