Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment. In this role, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of industrial, farm, and construction machinery. Your skills will ensure equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our commitment to excellence in service and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, in a fast-paced environment that values precision and proactive maintenance. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM schematics and service manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, air brake inspections, alignments, and HVAC system checks to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational requirements. Repair and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle fleets like tractor-trailers. Operate heavy machinery safely during troubleshooting or testing procedures to verify repairs or performance issues. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment repair. Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex issues across various machinery types such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including welding), soldering techniques, and assembly processes. Ability to lift heavy components safely during maintenance tasks; comfortable performing heavy lifting regularly. Valid certification or licensing related to diesel engine repair or heavy equipment maintenance is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients when necessary.
