We specialize in truckload, refrigerated, hazardous materials, and high-value freight transportation across the lower 48 states, with primary lanes in the Pacific Northwest, Mountain States, Southwest, Greater Midwest, and Northeast. Our fleet consists of modern Peterbilt tractors with Cummins engines and Great Dane trailers, equipped with advanced satellite tracking and temperature monitoring technology. Our maintenance department is a collaborative team made up of diesel mechanics, trailer mechanics, preventative maintenance technicians, and body repair specialists, supported by shop managers who oversee purchasing and parts inventory. Position Overview As a Journeyman Diesel Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain Peterbilt tractors equipped with Cummins engines to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability across our fleet. This role is ideal for technicians who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about high-quality repairs. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, drivetrain components, and electrical systems Utilize Cummins INSITE diagnostic software and other troubleshooting tools Identify and resolve mechanical and electronic engine performance issues Perform preventative maintenance and major component repairs Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals Maintain accurate repair documentation Ensure repairs meet company safety and quality standards Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to keep equipment operating efficiently Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or diesel technician Experience working on Class 8 tractors Strong knowledge of Cummins diesel engines, drivetrains, and electrical systems Experience using diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools Ability to diagnose and repair complex issues independently Ability to read and interpret service manuals and wiring schematics Technicians must provide their own standard mechanic hand tools Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred but not required) Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical shop duties Preferred Qualifications ASE Heavy Duty Master Certification Cummins X15 certification Previous experience working on Peterbilt trucks Benefits 401(k) Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Paid Time Off Work Environment Technicians work in a fast-paced fleet maintenance shop supporting a modern Peterbilt and Great Dane fleet.
