Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and construction vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with diesel engines, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery in a dynamic environment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, alignment adjustments, and shock & strut replacements. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems accurately. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using power tools, welding, soldering, and hand tools as needed. Repair and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other industrial machinery. Assist with assembly and disassembly of vehicle components during repair or maintenance procedures. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators or forklifts for testing or repair purposes when necessary. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with manufacturer specifications. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment. Support team members in equipment troubleshooting and repair projects to ensure minimal downtime. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and mechanical repairs. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools. Experience with vehicle maintenance including brake repair, transmission service, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement. Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy machinery operation and repair work environments. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service and quality workmanship. This position is integral to maintaining operational efficiency across our fleet of vehicles and machinery while adhering to safety standards and quality expectations.
