Job Description
We are offering a
- $5000.00 Sign on Bonus
- for a talented
- Diesel Technician / Mechanic
- to join our Distribution business in
- Rock Island, IL.
- You will make an impact in the following ways:
- + Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop + Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools + Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles + Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies + Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products + Maintain own tools
- In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- + Completes complex internal engine repairs + Performs engine overhauls unassisted + Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components + Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
- Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Proficient level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products The regular schedule for this position will be 8:00am to 4:30pm Mon-Fri.
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- Requires significant and/or in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training.
- Positive attitude and motivated with excellent communication skills
- Participates in scheduled meetings with branch and project management team to ensure alignment, maintain consistent communication, and ensure customer needs are met.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work, and consistently deliver projects according to a predetermined schedule.
- Work closely with branches during training and continue constant communication after.
- Required to work from the local branch.
- Overtime may be necessary based on business demand.
- Need to be willing to go for EV, PG, and CNG certification.
- A current valid license is required for this role
- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
