Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced and versatile Diesel Mechanic/Manager to oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. This role requires a strong background in automotive and industrial machinery, with leadership capabilities to manage maintenance operations effectively. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure optimal performance and safety across our fleet and machinery. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Perform complex repairs including transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, air brakes, alignment, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and welding. Manage maintenance schedules for vehicles such as tractor-trailers, forklifts, excavators, cranes, and other heavy machinery. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics. Oversee the repair and maintenance of customer vehicles and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Lead a team of technicians by assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring quality workmanship. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using diagnostic tools and service manuals. Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, electrical systems, hydraulics, and vehicle operation. Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, air brakes, and wheel alignments. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and diagnostic software. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical or hydraulic systems. Experience with vehicle maintenance including tire service and shocks & struts replacement. Knowledge of fabrication techniques for custom parts or repairs. Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physical tasks associated with mechanical repairs. Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs. Certification or experience in welding is a plus; valid driver's license required for certain operational tasks.
