Job Description

Overview AmeriRent is hiring a skilled Diesel Mechanic to keep our equipment rental fleet running at full strength. In this role, you'll diagnose and repair diesel-powered machinery — skid steers, excavators, lifts, and more — both in our Marion shop and on-site at customer job locations when field repairs are needed. This is a hands-on, self-directed role for someone who knows engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems and takes pride in getting equipment back to work fast. You'll run on a 4-day, 10-hour schedule (Friday-Monday) with a three-day weekend every week and optional overtime Tuesday through Thursday. Because AmeriRent operates multiple businesses from this location, occasional assistance with other shop needs may be required on Fridays and Mondays. If you're a reliable, safety-minded mechanic who'd rather solve problems than sit still, we want to talk to you. About Us AmeriRent is a fast-growing, family-owned equipment rental and sales company serving north-central Indiana from our Marion and Wabash locations. Our fleet includes skid steers, excavators, scissor and boom lifts, dump trailers, and more. We keep our equipment running so our customers can keep working — and we're looking for a skilled diesel mechanic to help us do it. The Schedule (this is the good part) This is a 4-day, 10-hour shift: Friday through Monday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. That's a three-day weekend every week (Tuesday-Thursday off). Overtime is available Tuesday through Thursday for those who want the extra hours. What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered equipment (skid steers, excavators, lifts, and related machinery) Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and service to keep the rental fleet ready Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and engine systems Prep equipment for rental and inspect on return Maintain accurate service records Keep a clean, safe, organized shop What We're Looking For Proven diesel mechanic / heavy equipment repair experience Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems Reliable, self-directed, and safety-minded Own basic hand tools preferred Valid driver's license Benefits (Full-Time) 401(k) with 4% company match Short-term disability and $100,000 life insurance (premiums paid by AmeriRent) Paid holidays and paid time off 40% employee equipment rental discount Three-day weekend, every week Pay and benefits are governed by the AmeriRent employee handbook.
