Position Summary:
Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technician serves to diagnose, maintain and repair our diverse set of machinery and heavy equipment. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of large machinery such as bulldozers, cranes, graders, and other construction equipment. Includes medium- and heavy-duty diesels. In this role, you will ensure operational efficiency and longevity of our key manufacturing assets. The ideal candidate is someone who not only has a thorough understanding of heavy machinery but also demonstrates a strong problem-solving ability and a commitment to safety and quality standards. This is a physically demanding role that may require the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine and scheduled maintenance of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs or replace defective parts.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance schedules and repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and regulations in the workplace.
  • Collaborate with the team to enhance machine reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical support and training to other maintenance staff.
  • Perform general maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to directions given by your supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technician.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with various types of machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
  • Ability to work in various weather and temperature conditions.
  • Awareness of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record; must provide own transportation to shop or work site each day (having your own vehicle is essential).
  • Relevant certifications preferred.
