Job Description

Jones & Sons is looking to hire a Mechanic at our Washington, Indiana location . Started in 1971, we are a family owned and operated business with locations in Bloomfield, Clinton, Linton, Terre Haute, Vincennes and Washington, IN. Our core activities include Ready Mixed Concrete, Block, Brick, Precast Concrete, and Aggregates servicing Southwest Indiana.

Basic Duties:
Maintain, repair and make adjustments on a wide variety of company vehicles and heavy equipment Provide road service to fleet vehicles and other company equipment Perform system checks on equipment using proper diagnostic tools Use proper procedures for checking and maintaining hydraulic pressures on vehicles and heavy equipment Repair and/or rebuild engines as needed Perform preventive maintenance on transmissions, differentials, carburetors, distributors, fuel pumps, injectors, steering systems, starters, generators, universal joints, hydraulic systems, air conditioning, air systems, pumps, brakes and electrical systems Utilize computer diagnostic tools to assess equipment Pick up and deliver various parts as needed Keep work area tidy and clean
Requirements:
Must have own tools Basic welding ability Experienced working on diesel engines preferred, but open to training new mechanics Qualified or ability to qualify as a "Brake Inspector" under DOT standards for commercial motor vehicles Ability to troubleshoot and repair different pieces of equipment Good safety practices and use of safety equipment at all times Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) Able to lift minimum 50 pounds Physically fit to bend, push, drag and stretch as the job requires Able to occasionally work in inclement weather if necessary Pass pre-employment and random drug tests and pre-employment background check PI6ffe25b9c5-
