Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation, and proficiency in automotive electrical and hydraulic systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with diverse machinery while contributing to the safety and efficiency of our fleet and equipment operations. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, and hydraulic systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections, and alignment adjustments to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to meet specific operational requirements. Repair and service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Utilize automotive electrical system repair techniques including soldering and troubleshooting electrical circuits for vehicle systems. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing phases while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records and document repairs performed for each vehicle or piece of equipment. Assist in the assembly or disassembly of complex mechanical systems during major repairs or overhauls. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues proactively and recommend preventative maintenance schedules. Support customer service efforts by communicating repair statuses clearly and providing technical guidance when necessary. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership or industrial service backgrounds. Strong familiarity with Caterpillar, Cummins, or similar diesel engine brands. Hands-on expertise in fabrication, welding, and metalworking techniques. Demonstrated ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software for automotive electrical systems. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or tractor-trailers is highly desirable. Knowledge of HVAC systems related to heavy machinery is a plus. Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions. Prior experience with automotive diagnostics tools and power tools is essential. Strong commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship.
