Mobile Semi Truck and Trailer Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities Independent Field Operations:

Manage and organize production at the job site (customer lots or roadside) to maximize efficiency and time management.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:

Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, specifically focusing on check engine lights and complex circuitry.

Maintenance & Repair:

Perform routine and emergency repairs on brakes, suspension systems, transmissions, and hydraulics.

Safety Inspections:

Conduct thorough D.O.T. inspections and PM services to ensure all fleet vehicles meet federal safety standards.

Component Replacement:

Replace or repair damaged parts and systems to restore vehicles to peak operating condition.

Precision Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate logs, digital paperwork, and cost tracking for all work performed via company systems.

Customer Communication:

Act as the face of the company on the road, communicating clearly with customers and dispatch to ensure high-quality service.

Mobile Semi Truck and Trailer Diesel Mechanic Qualifications Expertise:

Strong knowledge of semi truck and trailer systems, including air brakes, suspension, and specialized electrical diagnostics.

Self-Management:

Exceptional time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Capability:

Ability to perform heavy manual labor and lift up to 100 lbs. in various weather environments.

Experience:

Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or in a similar heavy-duty truck repair role.

Punctuality:

A reliable track record of being on time 5 days per week.

Tool Ownership:

Must possess your own professional hand tools, battery-operated drills, and impacts.

Licensing:

Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required for insurance.

Attitude:

A "can-do" mindset with a willingness to listen, learn, and collaborate with the shop team.
