Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and electrical components on tractor-trailers. Perform routine maintenance including vehicle inspections, oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and brake repairs. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues accurately. Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate lifting equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements. Experience Proven mechanic experience with heavy diesel engine repairs in a dealership or similar environment. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and electrical systems related to tractor-trailers. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering. Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Experience working with transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts is preferred. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
