Job Description

Custom Truck One Source — Mobile Field Technician (Home-based in Louisiana 71303) Step into a day where your expertise keeps essential infrastructure moving. As a mobile field technician with Custom Truck One Source (CTOS), you'll start from home, roll out in a fully equipped service truck, and tackle complex troubleshooting across the Gulf Coast. CTOS is a 30+ year industry leader with 40+ locations, 2,500+ employees, and a 10,000+ unit fleet serving utility, telecom, rail, and construction customers. Day in the life Hit the road across Louisiana, Mississippi, East Texas, and Western Alabama to diagnose and repair specialized utility equipment at customer sites. Work hands-on with bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, and service trucks—solving mechanical, electrical, diesel, and hydraulic issues. Perform inspections (including DOT) and dielectric testing on rental, customer, and company units. Use your company-issued laptop and credit card to manage work orders, parts, and travel logistics. Expect frequent overnight travel (50%-80%+) with significant assignments along the Gulf Coast in oil, gas, and utility areas. What you'll handle End-to-end troubleshooting, parts replacement, and field repairs on aerial, construction, and light/heavy-duty truck systems. Preventive maintenance, safety checks, and compliance documentation. Customer communication and coordination with the CTOS team to ensure uptime. Where you'll thrive Independent problem-solver who enjoys being the expert on-site, yet collaborates well with a broader support team. Comfortable working outdoors and on the move, adapting to varied field conditions. Requirements Valid Driver's License (required); CDL Class B preferred. Background with utility or heavy equipment such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, and medium/heavy-duty trucks. Proven mechanical aptitude and strong field troubleshooting skills. Tools and support from CTOS Company-provided, fully equipped service truck with crane, welder, and compressor. Company computer and credit card to streamline field operations. Schedule and extras On-call rotation shared among 3-4 technicians (Monday-Sunday) with a $250 on-call bonus.
