Fuel Man / Preventative Maintenance Diesel Engine Technician

Earnest Contracting is seeking a dependable and hardworking Fuel Man / Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to support our heavy equipment and trucking fleet. This is a critical role in our daily operations. You are the first line of defense in keeping our equipment fueled, serviced, and ready to work. Our operators and drivers rely on you every day to keep them running safely and efficiently. If you take pride in staying organized, sticking to a schedule, and catching small issues before they become big problems — this position is for you. What You'll Do Fuel all heavy equipment daily (on-site and job sites) Perform full-service preventative maintenance on equipment and fleet vehicles Conduct daily walk-around inspections and document findings Check and service fluids (fuel, oil, transmission, coolant, etc.) Lubricate moving parts and grease fittings Inspect frames, crossmembers, tires, brakes, clutches, filters, seals, and PCV valves Replace filters and perform routine service work Identify and report unusual issues or potential mechanical concerns Maintain detailed service logs for each unit Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized Assist mechanics with repairs when needed Work closely with the Lead Mechanic and Shop Foreman What We're Looking For Active driver's license with clean

MVR REQUIRED

Experience as a service/lube technician on diesel engines or heavy equipment General knowledge of heavy equipment (compactors, excavators, articulated trucks, loaders, backhoes, etc.) Understanding of computer diagnostic/testing tools preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to follow maintenance schedules Physically capable of lifting 50-100 lbs (with assistance when required) Ability to work in tight spaces and at heights over 10 feet Willingness to work outdoors in hot/cold weather conditions Ability to work extended hours when required Why Join Earnest Contracting?
