Maintenance Technician Schedule:

Monday•Friday | 6:00 PM•6:00 AM Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Night Shift Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position plays a critical role in keeping our fleet operating safely and efficiently by focusing on overnight preventive maintenance, inspections, and timely repairs. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services (A/B/C services) Complete oil and filter changes (engine, fuel, air) Grease chassis and suspension components Check and top off all fluids (transmission, differential, coolant, DEF) Inspect belts, hoses, wiring, and identify leaks Conduct brake inspections (pads, drums, slack adjusters) Inspect tires and ensure proper air pressure Test batteries and clean terminals Perform DOT-style inspections and identify unsafe equipment Complete minor repairs (lights, airlines, clamps, fittings) Document and stage major repairs for day shift Respond to breakdowns and road calls, including: No-start issues Air system leaks Electrical problems Tire issues (as applicable) Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues Repair/replace components such as starters, alternators, air system parts, sensors, and wiring Replace belts, hoses, valves, and fittings Complete and maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records Track and report parts needs and upcoming repairs Maintain shop cleanliness and organization Monitor and restock commonly used parts and supplies Qualifications Experience with diesel engines and fleet maintenance preferred Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently on night shift Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred) Basic computer skills for work order systems Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Short-term and long-term disability Life and accident insurance Optional additional life insurance Matched IRA Paid Time Off Bonus Opportunity Work Environment Night shift position with extended hours Combination of shop and field work Occasional on-call or emergency response required Apply Today If you are a reliable mechanic looking for a stable night shift position with a strong focus on preventive maintenance, we encourage you to apply.
