Diesel Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diesel or fleet maintenance, where you will utilize your expertise in electrical systems, brakes, and truck maintenance. ASE Certification is required. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including troubleshooting and diagnostics. Work on brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Conduct trailer maintenance and truck repairs. Utilize skills in air brakes, pneumatics, and welding. Maintain fleet vehicles and ensure they meet safety standards. Be available for 24/7 on-call responsibilities, potentially requiring work during 2nd or 3rd shifts. Essential Skills ASE Certification 5+ years of experience in diesel mechanics Proficiency in troubleshooting diesel engines Experience with brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to perform trailer maintenance and truck repairs Work Environment Work mostly in an indoor shop environment with shifts potentially from Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6:30 pm. Expect to work 45-55 hours per week with a possibility of 2nd or 3rd shift assignments. Be prepared for 24/7 on-call responsibilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walker, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.55 - $36.55/hr.
