- Full-time Diesel Mechanic Job Summary Iron Tree Service is seeking an organized, dependable, and proficient mechanic to join our growing team.
Candidates should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of technical tools. As a qualified mechanic, you must have the ability to quickly and effectively diagnose and resolve mechanical problems. Applicants should have some experience with diesel heavy equipment repair so they can determine what parts and tools are necessary for repairs. You must be able to use a tablet and run diagnostic tests and enter job information, and you need a valid driver's license to travel to job sites in case of emergency repair.
Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (CDL preferred) High school diploma or GED certificate Postsecondary degrees in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, engine repair, engineering a plus. USDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (a plus) OSHA 10 Hours Construction Safety Card (a plus) Associate's degree or vocational/trade school certification preferred ASE certification highly desired Proven mechanical acuity and basic math skills Familiarity with common mechanic's tools, service, and diagnostic equipment 2 to 5 years with diesel/heavy equipment repair Ability to work in uncomfortable, physically demanding positions, stand on one's feet for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Attention to detail Computer literate Clear communicator, and excellent customer service skills Efficient worker Welding experience (a plus) Coordinated and dexterous
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as presentation maintenance Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines Analyze and diagnose mechanical issues Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs Follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs Input, track and maintain all maintenance data and records Track inventory and order new parts when required Support coworkers and be a good team player Follow all health and safety laws and guidelines, as well as common-sense safety practices Tree industry experience (a plus) You will be working on (including Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Mac): Bucket Trucks Cranes (3 and 4 axle) Chip Trucks Log Trucks Chippers Pick-Up Trucks Ditch Witches Skid Steers Platform Lifts Excavators Loaders Misc.
