The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to handle both fleet maintenance and a wide range of customer vehicles mechanical needs. This position is responsible for keeping our fleet in top condition while also providing high-quality repairs to walk-in customer vehicles. Generally, their responsibilities include: 1.
Routine Maintenance Oil Changes:
Replace engine oil and oil filters.
Tire Services:
Rotate, balance, and align tires; inspect for wear and tear.
Fluid Checks:
Monitor and refill essential fluids such as coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid. 2.
Diagnostics Troubleshooting:
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems with the engine, transmission, or other systems.
System Tests:
Perform tests on electrical, fuel, and exhaust systems to diagnose issues. 3.
Repairs Engine Repairs:
Fix or replace faulty components like spark plugs, belts, and gaskets.
Transmission Work:
Address issues with automatic or manual transmissions, including clutch repairs or replacements.
Brake Systems:
Replace brake pads, rotors, and other components; diagnose and fix brake system issues.
Suspension Repairs:
Repair or replace shocks, struts, and other suspension components. 4.
Inspections Pre-Purchase Inspections:
Assess vehicles for potential buyers to identify any hidden problems.
Safety Inspections:
Conduct safety checks to ensure vehicles meet legal and safety standards.
Emissions Testing:
Test and repair emissions systems to comply with environmental regulations. 5.
Customer Interaction Consultation:
Discuss vehicle issues with customers and explain repair needs and costs.
Estimates:
Provide accurate cost estimates for repairs and parts.
Recommendations:
Advise customers on necessary and preventative maintenance. 6.
Record Keeping Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of repairs, services, and parts used.
Service Histories:
Update and review service histories to track vehicle maintenance and repairs. 7.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance Tool Care:
Regularly clean and maintain tools and equipment.
Inventory Management:
Ensure a proper inventory of parts and tools; order replacements as needed. 8.
Safety and Compliance Safety Protocols:
Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Regulatory Compliance:
Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations concerning vehicle repairs and environmental standards. 9.
Continuing Education Training:
Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
Certifications:
Obtain and renew certifications as required for specific types of work or vehicle brands. and renew certifications as required for specific types of work or vehicle brands.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on our fleet of diesel trucks and various customer vehicles. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and system issues for both fleet and customer vehicles. Conduct routine preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles to minimize downtime and ensure efficiency. Repair a wide variety of customer vehicles, from routine maintenance to complex mechanical problems. Use advanced diagnostic equipment and tools to ensure repairs are done to the highest standards. Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and service work. Work closely with team members to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating repair needs and updates to customers. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Diesel Truck & Automotive Master Mechanic. Extensive experience in maintaining fleet diesel trucks and performing repairs on a variety of customer vehicles. Full set of tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, automotive repairs, and diagnostics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
