Job Description

Diesel Technician - Whitman, MA (Serving South Shore School Districts) First Student is now hiring a Diesel Technician for our shop serving Whitman, Abington, Duxbury Academy, Norwell, Weymouth, Holbrook & Rockland!
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM |
Full-Time Pay:

Top Pay:
$35.00 - $38.00/hour based on experience & ASE certifications
ASE Incentives:
Earn up to $2.00/hour more with School Bus ASE certifications
No Flat Rate:
Get paid for every hour you work
Consistent Schedule:
Monday-Friday day shift (no weekends required)

Through PerkSpot (electronics, vehicles, travel & more) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) What You'll Do As a Diesel Technician, you'll maintain and repair a fleet of school buses to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance. Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and safety inspections Diagnose and repair engines, brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems Complete work orders and maintenance documentation Support road calls and emergency repairs as needed What We're Looking For 5+ years of diesel, fleet, or automotive mechanic experience Experience with diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance Valid driver's license required CDL Class B (or willingness to obtain - company paid) Own mechanic tools Willingness to obtain ASE certifications (training + pay increases provided) Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment Additional Information This is a safety-sensitive position subject to DOT drug testing DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana Apply Today Join a company that offers stability, strong pay, and long-term career growth -all while making a real impact in your community.
