Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles and machinery, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. We are a family-owned business looking to expand our team. The position is from 8:00 am to 5:00pm Monday - Friday. We're proud to offer a career opportunity with a reputable company that values dedication, integrity and growth. Duties Diagnose and repair diesel engines. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including oil changes, brake repairs, and tire services. Conduct DOT inspections. Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics. Repair air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components. Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely during repairs. Fabricate parts as needed using hand tools and power tools. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with advisors regarding vehicle needs. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in diesel engine repair. Proficiency in automotive repair techniques including air brake system repair, electrical, cooling system and driveline repairs. Familiarity with heavy truck operation and maintenance practices. Ability to read schematics for electrical troubleshooting. Experience with welding for fabrication tasks. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required in the role. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
