16815 Notley Road, Hagerstown, MD (Serving the Tri-State Area)Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team in 2026. Operating from our Hagerstown base, you will use a company-issued service truck to travel directly to customer locations, fleet yards, and roadside breakdowns along critical freight corridors like I-81 and I-70. The successful candidate will work independently to diagnose and repair urgent mechanical issues, minimize customer downtime, and deliver exceptional service. While prior diesel experience is a plus, we are looking for solid general repair experience and will fully train the right candidate.Key Responsibilities On-Site Repairs & Diagnostics:
Diagnose, adjust, and repair diesel engines, brake systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, steering, and transmissions directly at client sites or on the roadside.Emergency Roadside Assistance:
Respond promptly to unexpected vehicle breakdowns to get drivers safely back on the road.Customer Service & Communication:
Act as a brand ambassador, providing excellent customer service, explaining repairs needed, and updating customers on the status of their equipment.Independent Field Work:
Manage your own daily schedule effectively to maximize efficiency and minimize travel time across the greater Hagerstown and Tri-State area.Documentation & Tech Proficiency:
Utilize company maintenance software on a laptop or tablet to track, document, and report all repair work performed.Service Truck Management:
Maintain the inventory of parts and tools in your company-provided service vehicle, ensuring it is clean and properly stocked.Qualifications Experience:
Previous general mechanical or automotive repair experience required. We will train the right candidate on diesel-specific systems.Aptitude:
Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn heavy-duty truck systems.License & Certification:
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record. Must possess or be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card / Certification . Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one is a strong plus.Physical Ability:
Ability to work in varied outdoor weather conditions, lift at least 50 lbs., and perform physical tasks like kneeling or bending frequently.Equipment:
