Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and farm equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operations across various industries. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, and electrical systems on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and HVAC system servicing to keep equipment in optimal condition. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools and welding techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Conduct safety inspections and ensure all repairs comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed for each piece of equipment. Requirements Proven experience as a diesel technician or mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues. Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various work environments. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Valid certifications related to automotive repair or heavy machinery maintenance are highly desirable; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
