Diesel Mechanic Afternoons

Our diesel mechanic shop is currently hiring, and we are looking for a candidate who is both mechanically inclined and interested in becoming a vital part of our busy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for motor maintenance and repairs, as well as regularly checking the overall condition of all trucks as part of preventive maintenance. The successful candidate should have 1 year of prior experience working in a diesel shop environment and will work collaboratively with other mechanics to ensure that all trucks are in peak operating condition for our clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. Adjust air brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment. Raise trucks, equipment, and heavy parts using hydraulic jacks and hoists. Test drive trucks and equipment to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are in proper working order. Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges. Rebuild gas or diesel engines. Align front ends and suspension systems. Perform occasional road side calls. Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers at all times.

Qualifications/Experience/Education:

High school education and preferable 3+ years of position related experience.
