Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet operational, minimize downtime, and support our commitment to reliable service. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on medium to heavy equipment including forklifts, pump trucks and tractor-trailers using OEM specifications and schematics. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, suspension adjustments, hydraulic system repairs, and tire replacements to ensure equipment longevity. Fabricate custom parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on industrial machinery and heavy equipment utilizing automotive diagnostics tools. Operate heavy machinery during testing phases post-repair to verify proper functioning of systems such as hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, and alignment components. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed in compliance with safety standards. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform tire service or replacement on various vehicles and machinery as needed. Qualifications Proven experience working as a mechanic with a background in heavy equipment repair required. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes (including air brake systems), suspension systems, HVAC units, and steering components. Skilled in reading schematics and OEM manuals for accurate diagnostics and repairs. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other fabrication tools necessary for complex repairs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members. Certification in automotive diagnostics or relevant technical training is highly desirable; experience with farm machinery or industrial equipment is advantageous.
