Certified Diesel Mechanic Job Description:

8-hour day shift Monday to Friday Overtime available as needed Occasional Saturdays as needed Perform major and minor repairs on trucks Conduct regular preventative maintenance on HD trucks and service trucks Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles using a tablet system Keep the shop clean and maintain a safe shop environment, following all

requirements Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and also upon completion of repairs to ensure the vehicle is repaired properly. Perform field repairs (road calls) if possible and communicate with the shop supervisor if repairs can not be completed in the field. Assist drivers in the morning with cold start issues Keep management informed daily of current or suspect maintenance requirements needing to be performed Must have own toolbox with standard wrenches. Heavy-duty wrenches and equipment are supplied in-house •Must be self-motivated, have an outstanding work ethic, and take pride in the day-to-day job. Good communication and problem-solving skills Good reading, writing, and computer skills Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position Proficient in using wiring schematics and multi-meters Must have a good working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair ASE or state-certified in all aspects of HD diesel, including air brakes, is a plus Valid CDL license with air brake endorsement is a plus, but not required. Familiar with diagnostics on Freightliner, Cummins, Mack, and Cat is a plus
