Diesel Mechanic

H&K Excavating, LLC is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to help our current mechanic maintain and repair machinery and vehicles.

Responsibilities:

Preventative Maintenance Troubleshooting and repair of equipment failures Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner Perform thorough maintenance on trucks, machinery and equipment Undertake other duties as assigned (repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles, etc) Keep logs of work and report on issues

DOT Inspections Position Requirements:

Experience working with diesel equipment Proven experience as a mechanic Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components Ability to follow established procedures and practices Able to work without direct supervision Diagnosing abilities A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines Good communication skills Very good physical strength and stamina Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is desired Valid Certification(e.g ASE) is preferred Welding experience a plus
