Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, transmission servicing, and air brake system inspections to ensure optimal performance. Repair and fabricate components for rear load, side load and front load garbage trucks utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques. Inspect and service hydraulic systems, suspension components, steering mechanisms, and alignment to maintain safety standards across all machinery types. Assist with heavy lifting tasks during equipment assembly or repair processes while adhering to safety protocols. Diagnose complex issues involving hydraulics, HVAC systems on equipment, electrical diagnostics, and automotive diagnostics to restore machinery to peak condition. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and communicate technical findings clearly with team members or customers to ensure transparency and quality service. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician in dealership settings or industrial environments. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical systems and mechanical components. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large equipment or during parts replacement procedures. Knowledge of OEM parts sourcing and vehicle maintenance best practices for diesel engines and transmissions. Embark on a rewarding career where your mechanical expertise drives success!
