Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty equipment, industrial machinery, and fleet vehicles. In this energetic role, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and service diesel engines and related systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting a wide range of machinery including farm equipment, construction vehicles, and commercial trucks. This position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge tools and technology in a fast-paced environment where your mechanical skills make a real impact. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components using OEM schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment tractor to ensure safety and efficiency. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs. Rebuild or replace faulty components including brakes, transmissions, axles, suspensions, HVAC systems, and hydraulic lines. Use heavy equipment operation skills to assist with on-site repairs or equipment repositioning when necessary. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair in a dealership or industrial setting. Strong familiarity with fabrication techniques, schematics reading, electrical troubleshooting, welding, soldering, and assembly processes. Hands-on experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands; familiarity with OEM parts is highly desirable. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and the ability to interpret technical manuals for complex repairs. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems, tire service equipment and heavy lifting techniques. Prior experience servicing excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers or other industrial equipment is preferred.
