In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy equipment and automotive diagnostics to thrive in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspensions, brakes, air brakes, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and other critical components using schematics and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and farm machinery to ensure operational efficiency. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair or modify equipment as needed. Execute assembly and disassembly of complex machinery parts with precision while adhering to safety standards. Conduct wheel alignments, tire services, hydraulic repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and HVAC servicing to maintain equipment performance. Diagnose electrical issues using schematics and electrical experience; repair wiring harnesses and electronic components. Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and system inspections to prolong equipment lifespan. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures while observing all safety protocols related to heavy lifting and industrial work environments. Maintain detailed service records documenting repairs performed, parts used, diagnostics results, and recommendations for future maintenance. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service orders while providing excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and professionally. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Background working on heavy equipment such as forklifts, tractors/trailers is highly preferred. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; ability to troubleshoot electrical systems effectively. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding; familiarity with assembly processes. Knowledge of hydraulics, suspension systems, brake repair (including air brakes), power take-offs (PTO), HVAC systems in vehicles/equipment. Ability to operate heavy machinery safely during repairs; heavy lifting capability required. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment; experience with soldering is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks. Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
