Full Job Description Job Description:
As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic for our Company Fleet, you will be responsible for maintaining a fleet of gravel trains, making road calls as needed, keeping maintenance records, and maintaining an organized work area. Your core skills in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and preventative maintenance will be essential in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues. Premium skills in heavy equipment operation ad fabrication will enable you to excel in maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment. Your relevant skills in customer service and heavy lifting will also contribute to providing high-quality service to our fleet. Join our team and play a vital role in keeping our fleet in top condition.
Responsibilities:
Minimize downtime on trucks Make service calls during the day as needed Oversee or perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all tractors and trailers Resolve DVIR defects as reported daily when trucks get back to the yard Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues Inspect, test, and repair air brake systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems Repair or replace faulty parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, and valves Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
Job Requirements:
5+ years of proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role Knowledge of Detroit Diesel and Cummins diesel engines and their components Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
