We specialize in selling and servicing farm equipment from leading brands such as Massey Ferguson, Gleaner, Precision Planting, Versatile and many other leading short line brands. Midway Farm Equipment was founded in 1932 and maintains its single store roots while servicing all of the upper Midwest 5 state region. The position of Diesel Engine and General Technician performs a variety of mechanical duties related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of farm equipment and machinery. Here are some key responsibilities and requirements for this position:
Responsibilities:
Work with electronic diagnostic equipment and computer software to inspect and diagnose issues with agricultural equipment and machinery. Repair or replace defective parts in engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components. Perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery, including oil changes, cleaning, and part replacement. Prepares all forms (details of work performed on repair orders) required in conjunction with job assignments. Reports any additional work required on equipment to the Service Manager. Participates in all training programs as directed by the Service Manager Accounts for all time and for all materials used in performing work duties. Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion. Reports on any issues with shop tools, equipment or vehicles that are in a serviceable condition or are unsafe for use. Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments. Communicate with customers about the status and cost of repairs
Requirements:
Diesel Mechanic Certification OR equivalent of 3 years schooling/experience in farm equipment maintenance and repair. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL Beneficial) Mechanic tool set appropriate for required work Able to operate vehicles and equipment used in service shops Ability to lift heavy 75 pounds as required without assistance. Ability to work extended hours as needed. Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and good organizational skills. You will earn/be eligible for...
