This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems. As a skilled technician, you will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of trucks, construction equipment, farm machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will directly contribute to keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment using schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic tools. Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicle systems including brakes, suspensions, air brakes, alignments, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and transmissions. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair or modify machinery as needed. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair tasks. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately; repair wiring harnesses and electrical components. Perform tire service, wheel alignments, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system repairs to ensure vehicle safety and performance standards are met. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs for compliance and quality assurance purposes. Requirements Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician with heavy-duty diesel trucks or industrial equipment; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine repair, transmissions, brake systems (including air brake systems), hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; ability to interpret complex diagrams for diagnostics and repairs. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with assembly processes for heavy equipment repair. Ability to operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts or other industrial equipment safely. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, power lifts or hoists for vehicle maintenance tasks involving heavy lifting. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients about repair needs or technical issues. Physical capability to perform demanding tasks involving heavy lifting; comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
