Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Shop Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and mechanical knowledge. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, rental return inspections, shipping and receiving equipment. Fabricate parts and components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to support repair projects. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, wheel loaders to facilitate repairs or move machinery safely within the shop area. Utilize electrical system repair techniques and soldering skills to troubleshoot complex electrical issues on heavy equipment. Follow safety protocols during all repair activities involving heavy lifting, welding, or working with hazardous materials. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for each piece of equipment. Qualifications Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and suspension components. Proficiency with schematics interpretation and automotive diagnostics tools to accurately identify issues. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and use of power tools for custom repairs or modifications. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely and effectively. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures for farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy trucks. Strong electrical experience including automotive electrical system repair and soldering skills. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and maintenance needs. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions while maintaining safety standards. $28.71 - $40.00 per hour
