Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair the company's fleet of diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and support equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of transportation operations while minimizing vehicle downtime. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel system issues. Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles comply with DOT and company safety standards. Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering components, and other vehicle systems. Utilize diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot vehicle performance issues. Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and parts inventory reports. Respond to emergency roadside service calls as needed. Perform welding, fabrication, and light body repairs when required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Collaborate with drivers, transportation supervisors, and fleet managers to identify maintenance needs. Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of diesel mechanic experience. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
