In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment including but not limited to farm machinery, industrial equipment, heavy and light tow trucks, and construction machinery, all while applying your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep operations running smoothly. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems using OEM specifications and schematics. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding techniques, and hand tools to support repair or customization projects. Operate heavy machinery for testing repairs or during troubleshooting processes while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle or piece of equipment repaired or serviced; ensure all work complies with safety standards. Assist with assembly or disassembly of mechanical components during major repairs or upgrades. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance. Working knowledge of OEM parts and schematics is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics tools Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential. Knowledge of hydraulics, suspension systems, air brake systems, HVAC systems on industrial equipment is a plus. Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members.
