ACT operate multiple crews that complete the structrual concrete components of the project and one crew that is highly skilled in flatwork. As a Diesel Mechanic for our company, you'll be responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on the companies' fleet of trucks and construction trailers, heavy construction equipment, and tractor/trailer rigs. The successful candidate should have expertise in diesel and gasoline truck maintenance, electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and air systems.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle components Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems and provide recommendations for repair Repair or replace defective parts, including electrical wiring and computer-controlled systems Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery Use various diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic equipment, to identify problems Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance work performed on vehicles Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
Completion of a diesel mechanic apprenticeship program is considered a plus but equivalent work experience will be considered Strong mechanical and electrical skills Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical problems Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engine operation and repair Experience working with computerized diagnostic equipment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record Must have own tools We offer competitive pay based on experience starting at $24.00 an hour, 100% company-paid health and dental benefits for the employee as well as employee-paid health and dental family coverage and other elective benefits, and 401(k) retirement opportunities.
