Job Description

A family-owned general repair shop is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in West Plains, MO to perform in-shop diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs. Ideal candidates bring electrical, mechanical, and diesel repair experience. Apply today for steady work, quality repairs, and a clean, laid-back shop. Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, mechanical failures, and related components. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and mechanical repairs on commercial vehicles and fleet equipment. Service vehicles and equipment for railroad, school, hazmat, and other commercial fleet customers. Use diagnostic tools and testing procedures to identify issues and complete accurate repairs. Maintain high repair quality and follow professional shop standards. Support in-shop repairs and service calls as needed while keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Requirements Required:
Minimum 2 years of in-shop diesel mechanic experience. Hands-on experience performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs. Ability to properly diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical failures. Experience working on commercial vehicles, fleet equipment, or similar diesel repair work. Must provide personal tools specialty tools and diagnostic tools are supplied by the company. Able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for full 8-hour shifts, and perform physical repair work in a shop environment. Dependable work habits, strong attention to repair quality, and ability to work in a clean, team-oriented shop. #SJ1
Compensation:
$28.00 - $40.00/hour based on experience Overtime after 40 hours per week Service calls pay up to $75.00/hour Weekly tool truck allowance
