Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Class A Diesel Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy machinery, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse equipment including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and large commercial vehicles, contributing significantly to operational efficiency. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and brake repairs to ensure vehicle safety and reliability. Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and implement effective repair solutions. Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of complex machinery or components during repairs or upgrades. Perform welding, soldering, and fabrication tasks to repair or enhance equipment functionality. Support customer service efforts by communicating repair findings clearly and providing maintenance recommendations. Adhere to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, electrical work, HVAC systems, and other technical procedures. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with certification in diesel engine repair. Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair. Dealership experience is highly preferred along with familiarity with Caterpillar, Schematics interpretation, and industrial machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge across systems such as transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, electrical wiring, and suspension components. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic software. Experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or maintenance tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach. Knowledge of safety standards related to vehicle maintenance including air brake systems and tire service.
