The successful Diesel Technician candidate will perform truck/equipment repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards. He or she will also run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with diesel engines and a strong mechanical aptitude. Responsibilities Perform adjustments and repairs on diverse types of truck and equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Engine electronics, Engines, Transmissions, Clutches, Differentials, etc. Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks Perform heavy lifting tasks related to engine components and equipment Utilize electronic diagnostic tools and computer software to assist in the troubleshooting and repair of heavy-duty truck and equipment engine, braking, electrical, cooling, and aftertreatment systems. Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems Advanced ability to diagnose aftertreatment and electrical issues (CEL/Stop engine lights, DEF system, Nox sensors, troubleshooting) Perform all work with efficiency and accuracy. Communicate with the parts department to secure necessary parts. Advise shop foreman and provide recommendations if repair order needs to be adjusted. Road test vehicles as needed for quality assessment. Ensure customer vehicle cleanliness. Maintain a neat and orderly work area. Most work will be performed in the shop. Some field service work may be required. Ability to diagnose and repair all make / model Class 6
