Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our operations across various sectors including construction, agriculture, and transportation. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Diagnose issues using schematics, OEM manuals, and automotive diagnostics tools. Repair or replace components including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical systems. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools. Conduct alignments, tire services, brake repairs, and engine overhauls on diesel engines. Use power tools and specialized equipment to disassemble and assemble machinery components. Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems and HVAC components on heavy equipment. Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice and ensuring timely repairs. Requirements Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Familiarity with OEM schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and perform heavy lifting when necessary. Experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, vehicle maintenance, tire service, and assembly processes. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues quickly. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively. Physical ability to perform manual labor including heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions.
