Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Central Nebraska. Our home office is in Western Nebraska, but we are looking for mechanics who can be in the field at our job sites. Currently, we have needs for mechanics in the Lexington and Kearney, Nebraska area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of heavy equipment, farm machinery, and industrial vehicles. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, and air brake systems across diverse equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance on heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units, and mechanical components. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques as needed. Inspect and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive systems including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts, and tire service. Maintain detailed service records and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform welding or soldering work for equipment assembly or repair projects. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred. CDL is preferred but not required. Our service trucks are Class B size. The company can help obtain a CDL for the right candidate. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation, automotive diagnostics, and farm machinery maintenance. Proficiency in reading schematics and understanding electrical systems related to industrial equipment. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs. Knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, transmissions, suspension components, HVAC systems, and tire service. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Certification or experience in welding, fabrication, or heavy equipment operation is a plus. $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
