Field-Based Job Description We are seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Diesel Field Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered construction equipment. This position involves both shop and field work, with a strong focus on compact track loaders. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, lubrication) Repair or replace engines, hydraulic systems, and other components Inspect equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot problems Maintain accurate service records and repair logs Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper performance Follow all safety regulations and company procedures Communicate with supervisors and operators regarding equipment status Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred) Proven experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience with brands such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, or Takeuchi Extensive experience with compact track loaders Welding and fabrication skills Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces Work Environment Shop and field service environments Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and heavy equipment May require overtime, weekends, or on-call work Pay & Benefits Competitive pay (based on experience) Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off and holidays If you're a dependable mechanic with strong diagnostic skills and experience in construction equipment, we encourage you to apply today. 7/1/26
