Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic / Assistant Shop Foreman to join our team. This role combines hands-on diesel engine repair with responsibilities to support shop operations. You will be instrumental in maintaining our fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and machinery while assisting in daily shop activities. Your expertise will ensure our equipment runs smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions, and other heavy equipment components Assist in overseeing shop workflows, ensuring safety protocols and efficient operations are maintained Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for all repairs performed Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair needs and timelines clearly to internal teams Other Duties DOT compliance understanding, and implementation CDL compliance understanding, and implementation Assist with property maintenance, and safety compliance: fire code and building code compliance, general property mainenance Skills Experience as a diesel mechanic with heavy equipment background Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and power tools Hands-on experience with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and similar machinery Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems Knowledge of vehicle maintenance including air brakes, alignments, shocks & struts, transmissions, HVAC systems, and tire services Mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment requiring heavy lifting and safety awareness Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to maintaining top-tier equipment while fostering a collaborative work environment.
