Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our Tractor and Trailers ranging from Peterbilts, Volvos, and Kentworths and 53' trailers. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, utilize advanced diagnostics, and contribute to the smooth operation of our fleet and equipment assets.
Shift:
Tuesday to Saturday 3pm to 11pm. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems using schematics and mechanical knowledge. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts replacement, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to uphold safety standards. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific operational needs. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs or replacements as needed for complex automotive or industrial equipment. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and execute repairs promptly to minimize downtime. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in a dealership or heavy equipment environment. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation Strong knowledge of repair including transmissions, brakes (air brake systems), alignment procedures, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and shocks & struts. . Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems; ability to read technical manuals effectively. Experience in performing tire service, wheel alignment, vehicle maintenance routines, and general equipment repair. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients alike.
