Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This is a part-time position located at our truck depot.
Duties:
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines
  • Inspect and test vehicles to identify problems and determine necessary repairs
  • Use power tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer software to assist in troubleshooting
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as brakes, shocks, struts, air brakes, and suspension systems
  • Conduct inspections of tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed
  • Operate heavy machinery, such as cranes or lifts, for maintenance purposes
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Diesel Technician or in a similar role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and vehicle maintenance procedures
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to align and balance wheels
  • Skilled in welding and fabrication techniques preferred
  • Familiarity with tractor-trailers and heavy-duty vehicles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
