In 1944, a group of regional truck lease company owners met in Chicago to discuss how they could work together to provide maintenance for one another as their trucks began to travel across the country. Hub Truck Rental, a leading truck leasing and rental company, celebrating more than 60 years in business is seeking a team player to join our company in our NY and NJ location. What You'll Do Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner Diesel repairs, service & diagnostics Provide high-quality service to customers Driving to road calls - repairing trucks & trailers on site with little or no follow ups required Maintain current certifications and actively pursue additional training classes and ASE certifications Diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation by repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials Inspect trucks to ensure that they are in proper working condition Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose defects Other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor Comply with federal and state vehicle regulations by testing engines, safety systems, and combustion control standards What We're Looking For 1 + years of automotive or diesel mechanic experience (preferred) High school diploma or equivalent Diesel Mechanic / Technician training not needed but is a plus A valid driver's license is required CDL a plus Truck mechanical aptitude Union Shop exposure a plus Ability to communicate professionally with customers and co-workers
