Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Certified Diesel Mechanic to join our team and help maintain our fleet of Diesel and Natural Gas garbage trucks. This role is responsible for diagnostics, preventative maintenance, repairs, and keeping vehicles operating safely and efficiently on a consistent maintenance schedule. This is a hands-on position ideal for a mechanic with strong troubleshooting ability, electrical knowledge, and experience working on heavy-duty fleet vehicles. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled fleet servicing Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-related issues Complete oil changes, transmission fluid services, greasing, and general maintenance Replace brakes, tires, and other heavy-duty truck components Troubleshoot wiring and electrical system issues Perform repairs on Diesel and Natural Gas garbage trucks Maintain accurate maintenance schedules and repair records Inspect vehicles to ensure safe operation and DOT compliance Respond to breakdowns and repair needs as necessary Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized Required Qualifications Certified Diesel Mechanic experience required Strong knowledge of Cummins engines Experience working on heavy-duty trucks or fleet vehicles Strong electrical and wiring troubleshooting skills Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures independently Must have your own tools Valid driver's license preferred Ability to lift heavy parts and work in a shop/outdoor environment Preferred Experience Natural Gas truck experience Hydraulic system knowledge Fleet maintenance experience Welding or fabrication experience is a plus Why Join Us?
