Job Description

Diesel Technician - Heavy Equipment & Fleet Maintenance We are seeking a Diesel Technician to perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This position is ideal for a hands-on mechanic who enjoys wrenching and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, filters, fluid checks, and inspections. Repair and replace brakes, suspension components, steering components, wheel seals, bearings, and other mechanical systems. Remove and install engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components as needed. Perform hydraulic hose and component replacements. Complete routine repairs and maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment. Conduct equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs. Maintain accurate service records and work orders. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Equipment Experience May Include Peterbilt, International, Freightliner, Mack, and Kenworth trucks Garbage/refuse trucks Street sweepers Dump trucks Roll-off trucks Excavators Bulldozers Loaders Backhoes Skid steers Municipal fleet equipment Qualifications Previous experience working as a diesel mechanic, fleet mechanic, or heavy equipment technician. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience performing repairs and maintenance. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. CDL is a plus but not required. Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in a shop environment.
Pay:
$26.74 - $33.00 per hour
