$25•$38/ hr. At Portside Truck and Auto Repair, we take pride in providing top-notch diesel repair and maintenance services for our community. Whether it's a fleet unit or a heavy-duty pickup, our customers count on us to keep their engines running strong. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Class A, B or C Automotive Diesel Technician to join our Selkirk, NY Truck & Auto Repair division. What You'll Be Doing:
Preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, electrical troubleshooting, fuel and emissions system, air and hydraulic brake repairs, welding and fabrication, drive-line, steering and suspension, plus other duties assigned. Assisting fellow technicians with repairs while maintaining compliance with safety. Maintaining knowledge of new technology in advanced diagnostics, internal engine and transmission repairs. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Completing necessary training.
What We're Looking For:
2 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience (heavy•duty preferred) Advanced skills in strategy-based diagnostics; be able to utilize diagnostic tools and computers to identify root cause and correction Freightliner, Detroit, Cummins, Eaton experience preferred ASE certifications, knowledge of DOT standards
Additional Qualifications:
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Commercial Driver's License preferred but not required
