Part-Time Diesel Mechanic (12 Days/Week)

Role:

I'm looking for a diesel mechanic to help me keep up with maintenance on my small fleet of trucks and equipment. I simply don't have the time to do everything myself, so I need someone reliable who can come in roughly one day a week (Fridays or weekends preferred) — with the possibility of up to two days if needed. This is not a full-time, consistent role. Some weeks may be lighter, others a bit heavier. I'm really looking for someone to help with routine maintenance, inspections, and occasional service work.

Current Equipment:

• Vermeer

BC1000XL

chipper

• F-550 chip truck
• F-550 dump truck
• F-150 pickup truck
• MT-100 Bobcat mini skid steer
• Dump trailer No lifts or buckets at this time.

Typical Tasks Might Include:

• Full service on equipment (e.g., chipper just hit 1,000 hours — oil & oil filter done, but needs air filters, hydraulic fluid, coolant flush, knife checks, etc.)
• Preventative maintenance on trucks and skid steer
• General inspections and advice on upkeep

What I'm Looking For:

• Experienced with diesel engines and small fleet maintenance
• Able to work independently
• Flexible — some weeks just a few hours, other weeks maybe a full day
• Local to Chardon or nearby
